Anyone familiar with moblogs? Any preferences, suggestions, thoughts on which are better than others? We're probably adding moblog functionality to The Touched soon and I'd like to know pros and cons of the various ones like BuzzNet, Flickr, TextAmerica, etc... I'll be doing my homework on my own, but that doesn't mean I don't like to hear people's thoughts on the matter regardless.

Note to my dad: Walking up to me and saying "So, your teams lost today" is NOT is a good way to try and "bond".

Well, the big fronts of chaos are already starting to make their presence felt. Inevitably before all the big changes in my life, shit starts breaking.

Early this afternoon, my monitor died. I'm using Greg and Liz's spare for now.

It's been quiet on here, a little too quiet really. I should make some kind of post saying that we're all okay, and that life just keeps moving on, but I won't speak for anyone else.

For me, I spent the last few days among friends and realized that something fundamental had shifted in my life -- I dunno what it is. It's odd, really. I can tell there's something that's not the way it was not long ago, but I can't put my finger on it. Something's changing, though, and that's a little weird to me. I've kinda felt like I've been in a loop for a while, sort of spinning my wheels in circles but now it feels like the car's back on the road and we're going somewhere. I'm pretty aware that right now, though, I'm not driving the car -- I'm just in the passenger's seat and going along for a ride.

I don't feel bad. I don't feel great either, but really, that doesn't mean anything. I had a lot of fun seeing everyone, and I'm glad everyone was as glad (if not more glad) to see me as I was to see them. It's good to be missed.

We'll see. Maybe I'm just dreaming. Or maybe something really has changed and I'm going to have to adapt to something new. It's all purely speculative at this point.

I realize this seems cryptic, but I've honestly made it as clear as I can, because, really, it isn't clear to me yet. The movie's running, but it's out of focus. I'll let you know when I figure out more.

Saw Sky Captain last night, and very much enjoyed it. Although the first 10-15 minutes of the film are too hurried, once past that it settles into a lovely rhythm, full of gorgeous cinematography and wonderful adventure in that crackle-zip-bam! type of way. It really does feel like one of those old sci-fi serials come to life -- from the Spitfire pilot who can do almost anything to his trusty friend with his raygun. Seriously, go out and see it -- we loved it. Maybe I'll write a longer review later. For now, however, off to see SquareEnix!

This kind of stuff is the main reason I read Warren Ellis' blog.

Is this going to catch on here, and if so, do I get to make fun of people for it?

And only he could find pictures of sci-fi dildos flying in formation like a squadron of spitfighters.

God, I love the internet some days...

I'm joining the ranks of the unemployed, hope no one minds.

Yup, Google let me go today. It's not a huge deal, I understand the reasons, so I'm not freaking out or anything. But now I have to start job hunting, and I hate doing that...

Oh well. Let's see where I go. ^_^

*dies laughing*

Oh, and in other news: Shaun of the Dead, in theaters everywhere September 24th.

Hell. Yeah.
I'm amazed I haven't been blacklisted somehow with warranty companies. Keeping in step with my usual I just forced The Good Guys to buy me a new Samsung 30" Widescreen 1080i HDTV to replace my almost 4 year old 27" Sony which they told me to trash (which still works so the rents get it...they just broke a trace in shipping the Mainboard that causes a pincushion for the first half hour it's on or until you hit the TV a couple times) about 4 or 5 months ago. Yesterday I took my 4 year old (on Nov 1st anyways) Canon s100 for it's 4th repair at Best Buy for all legitimate reasons (but I planed to do illegitimate ones if I needed to anyways for those keeping record for how Best Buy does business) which means "no lemon policy" and you bet your ass I'm gettin the Canon s500 in it's place just gota wait a week. Now today I've just gotten my replacement for my almost failing 1 year old 120gig (they sent me a 160gig...oh yea one year warranty). Now the kicker...the past couple days my almost 3 year old 80gig is now having rampant head crashes so there goes one more thing under warranty (3 year warranty for this one). Dunno if anyone cares but some pencil pusher out there must hate people with luck like mine. Always right before the warranty goes out =D /incohearant post
