Made it back. Have some artsy holiday shots.

In 1993, I saw this:

And in 2007, I saw this:

Both made me laugh myself silly. Both times.

Merry Christmas from Denver airport... Was supposed to arrive at 5:07 local time. Arrived 6:45 local time. Was supposed to be leaving 5:34 local time. Am currently scheduled to leave 10:15 local time. And that's just the current estimate. It could get pushed back more. Alas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
everyone

I do not envy the supervisor of Microsoft's customer service department that I will be speaking with tonight. I will be calm. I will be cool. I will also be so deathly angry that I will continue working my way up the food chain until I am appeased for this absolutely horrific customer service experience.

To keep you all updated, they have announced the names of the victims in the Omaha shooting from yesterday, and I did not know any of them. It's still a bit shocking to me that this happened where I grew up. I know the mall where this happened intricately. I know the store in question, and when I was watching broadcasts of reporters, witnesses talking about the shooting, I knew about where people were standing and where it was taking place, as I have been in that store more than a couple of time. To me, it's just chilling. I know some people are desensitized to this kind of thing, but when it happens in your backyard, you'd be surprised at how much you really feel it.

Yes, I grew up in Omaha. No, no one in my family was killed. No, I don't know if I know anyone who was killed yet.

If you haven't heard, nine dead, 5 wounded in a mall shooting in Omaha, where I grew up. I spent a lot of time in that mall, and I am more than a little shaken about this.

That's it. There will be no more collapsing of anyone, anywhere, at anytime. None whatsoever. I'm done with it. No more until after Christmas. Then you can all fall over like dominoes. Just no more right now.

Please?

UPDATE 12/2: So for those of you who don't know what's up, my mother collapsed at work on Friday night, with upper abdominal pain (not appendicitis), and they took her to the ER. She spent the night in the hospital, but she's home now, and doing better, though no one has a clue what's wrong with her (all the test results were normal).

I ask no one else to collapse, because Louis and Young's father collapsed on Thanksgiving day and died a short while later last week. This, along with the death of my co-workers son also on Thanksgiving, from the leukemia he'd been fighting for the second time (we'd been rooting for him and sending him gifts, and games and such) has made for a very shitty week. Therefore, no one else is allowed to collapse or become hospitalized or anything.
