How 'bout a long ass post?
It has been a very long month, and I have decided that this weekend, I am not going anywhere that requires me to be in the car for more than a half hour. Seriously, this month, I've been to (not in this order): Sonoma, Arroyo Grande, Oceano, San Francisco, and Turlock. Oh, and Redwood Shores, like 3 times. And that was in three weeks. Now I know there are other people here who drive a lot, but for me, that's a great deal of milage on my car (well, except for the Arroyo Grande, Dad drove then). Not to mention that a lot of that is for work, so while a good time was had, it wasn't all fun. I need a car break.
Speaking of cars, I've had to scrape ice off of mine every morning for the last week or so. This is mildly annoying because a) I don't own an ice scraper, and my AAA card is a little worse for wear because of it, and b)there's no one to throw the ice snowballs at when I'm done scraping. Sadness, truly.
The hills were beautiful this past weekend, what with the snow and all. It's not horribly common, but it hasn't happened in a few years, and it's always a sight to see. Green hills with a lovely white mantle thrown over just makes me smile. Too bad I couldn't get up there to take pictures. By the time I got home, it was getting too dark to get a good shot, and we left early the next morning. Alas.
Work is going well, if a little confuddled right now. I'm learning the ropes, and I have most of the basics down, but I'm going to be up in Redwood Shores a lot the next few weeks, because gaps haven't been filled. Redwood Shores is nice, but it's an hour to get there in the mornings, and almost an hour back as well, so you can understand my reluctance to be up there too often. After my stint with commuting to SF, my brain has freak out sessions when I have to be near 101 going up to the city. It's getting better, but I'm looking forward to the end of March, which is when I'll stick to the South Bay.
So I'm going to Hawaii at the end of May, but I'm paying for everything now, which is painful, because nothing there is cheap. So I'm thinking the new computer is going to get pushed back, but the new car is still well in my mind. You guys want to shout out your recommendations? I'll make a list of all of them, and start test driving. ^_^
