British DJ legend John Peel has passed away. You have no idea how indescribably sad this makes me. I know the name probably doesn't mean much to most of you, but John Peel was the soul of british radio. Peel was responsible for breaking artists like The Clash and David Bowie, he brought people like The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine to the forefront in England in the early 90s, he pushed people like The Jesus & Mary Chain and Mogwai into the limelight. NME gave him the Godlike Genius Award even. Peel was the man who helped shape the face of music over the last 40 years... he will be very much missed.
